The autism support assistant is responsible for ensuring daily support provided to adults with autism meets their expectations to enhance their quality of life, aligning with agency values and goals. Responsibilities include maximizing health and safety, implementing personal outcomes, and supporting individuals in areas like social skills, vocation, and daily living.
Candidates must have either a developmental service worker diploma, human services diploma/Degree, or a personal support worker certificate, or a high school diploma with one year of related experience, preferably supporting individuals with autism. A valid g2 driver's license, reliable vehicle, and the physical ability to support clients and perform nvci techniques are required.
