Spiritual Health Practitioner

The practitioner assesses spiritual needs and provides comprehensive spiritual care and emotional support, including counseling and supportive presence during times of anxiety, loss, or distress, to patients, families, and staff. Responsibilities also include participating in care team meetings, collaborating with community clergy, mentoring volunteers, and precepting students.

Candidates must possess a master’s degree in a relevant theological or spiritual field and have completed two advanced units of clinical psychospiritual education (Cpe). Preferred qualifications include certification as a spiritual health practitioner with casc/Acss.
