The registered nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for patients, developing and revising plans of care based on established frameworks and bccnm standards of practice. Responsibilities also include supporting other healthcare professionals, providing clinical direction, participating in educational activities, and advocating for patient rights.
Applicants must possess current practicing registration as a registered nurse with the british columbia college of nurses and midwives (Bccnm) and typically require 1-2 years of medical/Surgical experience, with 2 years preferred, to be eligible for the funded post-Basic education. Successful completion of the specialty training program is required before working in the cath lab department.
