The staff nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care to meet patients' physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs using an established framework for practice. Responsibilities include developing and revising care plans, incorporating patient teaching, supporting colleagues, and providing direct nursing interventions for crisis management.
Applicants must possess current practicing registration as a registered nurse with the british columbia college of nurses and midwives, along with two years of recent experience in a maternity setting that includes labor and birth, or recent completion of a perinatal nursing specialty certificate. Current neonatal resuscitation certification is also required.
