The lecturer is responsible for the design and delivery of a university credit course in Spanish for heritage and native speakers. Duties include preparing course content, managing student interactions, and administering assessments and grades.
A PhD in Spanish Studies and near-native Spanish fluency are required. Candidates must have demonstrated experience teaching Spanish at the university level and knowledge of the specific course subject matter.

Sessional Lecturer I - $9,997.48 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE) Sessional Lecturer I Long Term - $10,699.22 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE) Sessional Lecturer II - $10,699.22 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE) Sessional Lecturer II Long Term - $10,953.96 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE) Sessional Lecturer III - $10,953.96 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE) Sessional Lecturer III Long Term - $11,228.90 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE) Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
PhD degree in Spanish Studies is required. Demonstrated knowledge in the specific area of the course is required. Demonstrated experience teaching a university-level Spanish language course is required. (Near-)native Spanish fluency is required.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching this course, or a similar course at the university level, is preferred. Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II and Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12.
All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a University credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; out-of-class interactions with students via e-mail and office hours; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; order all necessary readings.
