WGST 100 – Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies This course examines the historical emergence of feminisms and women’s and gender studies. This course interrogates gender at the intersection of race, sexuality, colonialism, ability, class, among others. A range of topics that may draw on experiential learning, community engagement, visual culture from a decolonizing and social justice framework. Position Requirements The successful candidate must hold a minimum of an MA in Women’s and Gender Studies, preferably a PhD; have a record of effective teaching at the post-secondary level; have experience managing classroom and online technologies used by the University of Regina (including UR Courses [Moodle]) Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada, and the work associated with this position must be performed within Canada. As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours The instructor will deliver this course remote-synchronous on Mondays from 16:00-17:15. This course will take place via Zoom, with additional asynchronous online components, and will be live-streamed to various campuses across the province. Instructors are expected to have one office hour per week. Sessional Lecturers may have preparatory work to do before the start date and sometimes may have to deal with grading tasks after the termination date.
