Part-Time Academic (CUPE Instructors for Nursing) - Fall 2026 Posting Number PTAP3300P Department/Unit Nursing Location Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Job Summary & Key Responsibilities The School of Nursing is now accepting applications for multiple CUPE Instructor positions (SIM/Lab Instructors, Tutorial Leads, Clinical Instructors) in the fall term of year 2026 (September 8 – December 4, 2026). Instructors are responsible for teaching and supervising a group of BScN students who provide direct client care in clinical settings, work in a clinical skills and simulation lab or tutorial group setting. Tasks include but are not limited to lab demonstrations, marking and proctoring term tests and final examinations as well as evaluating assignments. Access to a computer (no tablet/iPad/phone) with working internet to run Microsoft Teams for online meetings and instruction is required. Clinical Instructors will report to the instructor of record for their course and work under the protection of CUPE Collective Agreement 3912 – Dalhousie University. Key responsibilities include delivering course content through lectures, seminars, and case‑based activities, evaluating student performance, grading assignments and providing timely, constructive feedback and supporting the integration of clinical knowledge through simulation and applied learning. The role also involves mentoring students, participating in curriculum development, collaborating with faculty and clinical partners, and maintaining compliance with academic and accreditation standards. NP Teachers are expected to uphold evidence‑based practice, foster a professional learning environment, and contribute to ongoing program improvement. This position also may involve in person and/ or virtual delivery of course content and student interaction.
