Position Title

Part-Time Academic (HAHP 2000: Human Growth and Development) - Winter 2027 Posting Number PTAP3242P Department/Unit Health & Human Performance Location Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Job Summary & Key Responsibilities The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: HAHP 2000 – Human Growth and Development. The course will be offered in the Winter Term, from January 1st, 2027- April 30th, 2027. NOTE: This is an in-person course and includes lectures. This course is designed to provide an overview of the human life course through physiological, emotional, social and psychological perspectives. This course explores various perspectives and influences that contribute to human development. Students will engage in class discussions, writing and research assignments to develop critical thinking skills. The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including preparing and delivering lectures and preparation and grading of assignments. The course will be taught using Brightspace (LMS- learning management system) and in-person on the Halifax Campus for the winter term . In addition, the part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparation in advance of the term. The part-time academic may consider offering one to two office hours outside of class time per week. Qualifications/Requirements of Position Graduate degree in Kinesiology, Health Promotion or Recreation and Leisure Studies with demonstrated teaching ability preferred. Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
