Position Summary

  • CHIN 111: Introductory Mandarin Chinese I This course will focus on introducing modern standard Chinese (Mandarin) language and culture, including the Chinese pronunciation system, essential vocabulary and grammar, reading and writing Chinese characters. Communicative competence and cross-cultural awareness are emphasized. Position Requirements
  • At least a B.A. in a related discipline.
  • Native or near-native fluency in the target language as well as in English.
  • Experience and evidence of teaching ability in the relevant language. Applicants with more teaching experience in the area in question, at the university level, will normally have preference over others. Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional

Salary Range

As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours The instructor will deliver the course on campus face-to-face on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1000-1115. Instructors are expected to have one office hour per week. Sessional Lecturers may have preparatory work to do before the start date and sometimes may have to deal with grading tasks after the termination date.
