The specialist, skills development provides literacy instruction to individuals who are deafblind, blind, and partially sighted, which includes conducting initial intake, designing training plans, and supervising placement students. This role also involves drafting government reports, acting as a resource for staff and partners, and maintaining accurate electronic learner files and statistical reports.
Candidates must have experience working with people with exceptional needs and the ability to adjust instruction strategies accordingly, with experience in alternate communication formats being an asset. Required qualifications include a diploma in human services or adult learning (Or equivalent), strong computer skills for record maintenance and reporting, and knowledge of oalcf and eois-Cams.
