Job description

  • <p><strong> </strong><strong>Position Description</strong></p> <p>A temporary full time (1.0) Outreach Teacher is required by School District No.
  • 60 (Peace River North) effective September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027). </p><p>In partnership with Doig River First Nation, School District 60 is seeking a compassionate, innovative, and culturally responsive educator with proven teaching experience to support Doig River First Nation students.
  • Operating from the Doig River First Nation Learning Centre, this position focuses on re-engaging students who are not currently attending school, students who demonstrate inconsistent attendance patterns and those that require extra academic support.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for building and developing a program that addresses academic, social-emotional, and cultural needs of students while creating pathways back to the traditional school system or alternative educational options. </p><p>This role requires regular travel to and from the Doig River First Nation community .
  • Mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with district policy. </p><p><br></br></p><p> The Doig River First Nation (DRFN) is home to the Tsáá ʔ ché ne dane, a proud Dane-zaa people whose ancestral lands span the upper Peace River region of British Columbia and Alberta.
