EFR is a Kindergarten to Grade 7 dual-track French Immersion and English school. We serve approximately 440 students and we are located on the north side of Dawson Creek. Our playground looks over Bear Mountain and the first renewable wind energy installation in British Columbia! At EFR we are focused on student safety, choosing kindness at all times and working hard toward academic goals. The school maintains a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, engaging collaboratively for continuous improvement. The EFR mascot is the Bulldog! As bulldogs we focus on being kind, calm, determined, and courageous. The qualities underscore the efforts to foster curious, creative, resilient critical thinkers.</p><p>The French Immersion program is offered from K to 7 and focuses on strong-oral language development and encouraging authentic use of French through cultural activities such as francophone musicians, authors, scientists, artists, amongst others. Students in French Immersion have the opportunity to compete in speaking contests, interact with French language guests from Francophone communities and participate in cultural activities such as Carnaval. </p><p><strong><u>We are seeking teachers to be a part of our team. </u></strong></p><div> </div><p>The ideal teacher candidate begins with students at the heart of their practice; teaching the learner, not just the curriculum. Additional human resources available to all teachers include support for literacy, numeracy, Aboriginal Education, resource acquisition (Resource Center staff), and student support services. </p><div> </div><p><strong>Benefits in working for School District No. 59: </strong></p><div> </div><ul> <li>Relocation Allowance: Up to $5,000 for out of district applicants (with submission of approved receipts)</li> <li>Northern Travel Allowance: A Great Benefit at Tax Time! An amount of up to $4,000 of the salary paid to the employee shall be designated as a Northern Allowance Travel benefit. This allowance shall be in effect within the guidelines of Revenue Canada as they exist and are changed by Revenue Canada from year to year and shall end when the Revenue Canada program ends. Regular part time employees’ allowance will be prorated proportionate to the hours worked</li> <li>Remote and Rural Allowance: Teachers working in School District No. 59 are eligible to receive a remote and rural allowance, which is both an adjustment to the salary grid and an annual allowance of approximately $3,035
