The vision rehabilitation therapist assesses patients for adaptive devices and provides training on visual aids and exercises prescribed by the optometrist, assisting with environmental modifications and basic activities of daily living. This role also involves providing supervisory support for interns within the sight enhancement clinics.
Required qualifications include a post-Secondary degree in occupational therapy, vision science, or certification as a certified low vision/Vision rehabilitation therapist, along with two years of experience working with the elderly and individuals with vision loss in a healthcare setting. Candidates must be licensed/Registered and will be required to complete certification studies for low vision therapy and adp authorization.
