- AQUATIC FACILITY PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER (PSW) Kayla’s Children Centre We are currently seeking a compassionate, reliable, and team-oriented Personal Support Worker (PSW) to support students, clients, families, and staff within our Aquatics Facility.
- This position plays an important role in helping children and youth safely access aquatic programming, hydrotherapy, and recreational swimming opportunities.
- The Aquatic Facility PSW supports personal care routines, change room assistance, hygiene goals, and facility operations while contributing to a welcoming and supportive environment for families and swimmers of all abilities.
- This is a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic aquatic and therapeutic setting alongside therapists, instructors, lifeguards, educators, and families.
- Position Responsibilities Assist students and clients with changing before and after aquatic programming Support swimmers with personal care and hygiene routines, including showering and toileting as needed Assist with individualized self-help and independence goals related to dressing, showering, and change room routines Support parents and caregivers within the family change room when appropriate Provide safe transfers and physical assistance as required Maintain dignity, privacy, and respect during all personal care interactions Assist with laundry duties including towels, swim gear, and facility linens Support the cleanliness and organization of the aquatic facility, including change rooms and poolside areas Collaborate with therapists, instructors, lifeguards, and educational staff to support swimmer success and safety Follow all health, safety, infection prevention, and aquatic facility procedures Communicate professionally and effectively with staff and families
Qualifications
Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate or equivalent experience Experience supporting children and/or individuals with diverse abilities is preferred Comfortable working in an aquatic environment and assisting clients in and around water Experience with personal care, transfers, and hygiene support Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Physically able to assist with transfers, lifting, bending, and mobility support Current CPR/First Aid certification is considered an asset Aquatic experience is considered an asset but is not required

Job Type: Part-Time Schedule: Sunday to Thursday with daytime, afternoon, evening, and weekend opportunities based on program needs Employment dates: May 25th – June 11th 2026 Work Location: In person, in the aquatic facility
