Kayla's Children Centre is a multi-disciplinary centre for children with special needs. Our mission is to provide high-quality, cutting-edge, educational, therapeutic, and recreational programs for infants, children and teens with special needs, and to assist their families by offering support and respite.

  • HYDROTHERAPY OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST We are currently seeking a passionate, creative, and collaborative Occupational Therapist to provide hydrotherapy services within our Aquatics Facility.
  • Our aquatic program supports both school and community clients through therapeutic and recreational programming.
  • This position offers a unique opportunity to combine pediatric occupational therapy with aquatic intervention in a warm, collaborative, and highly specialized environment.
  • Therapists have the opportunity to develop innovative treatment approaches using the therapeutic properties of water to support regulation, motor development, strength, mobility, confidence, communication, and participation in meaningful activities.
  • Our aquatic facility serves children with a wide range of physical, developmental, sensory, and neurological needs and provides opportunities for both individual and small-group intervention.

  • Position Responsibilities · Provide assessment and treatment using hydrotherapy approaches for children and youth · Develop individualized therapy goals and treatment plans · Address sensory processing, motor skills, self-help, visual motor, and functional skills · Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team including educators, therapists, and support staff · Communicate professionally and effectively with families, caregivers, and school staff · Maintain accurate and complete clinical documentation in accordance with College guidelines · Manage a varied caseload while meeting required timelines · Participate in program development and contribute to a positive team environment · Provide mentorship, supervision, and learning opportunities for Occupational Therapy students during clinical placements · Support OT students in developing clinical reasoning, therapeutic planning, professional communication, and aquatic therapy skills

Qualifications

· Baccalaureate or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (required) · Current registration and good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario · Minimum 5 years of clinical experience preferred · Experience working with children with diverse abilities including: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Developmental disabilities, Physical disabilities · Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills · Proficient computer skills for scheduling and documentation · Aquatic therapy, hydrotherapy, swimming experience (NLS, LSS instructor etc.) is considered an asset but is not required

Position Details: Job Type: Part-Time to Full-Time

Hourly Rate
