About the role

Provide academic support and behavior management for students with special needs through whole group, small group, or 1:1 instruction. Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, material preparation, and the implementation of IEP accommodations.

Kayla's Children Centre is a multi-disciplinary centre for children with special needs.

Our mission is to provide high-quality, cutting-edge, educational, therapeutic, and recreational programs for infants, children and teens with special needs, and to assist their families by offering support and respite.

Responsibilities

Work 1:1 with children and be able to run a small group Collaboration within the classroom and within the multi-disciplinary team Follow through on protocol given by teachers and other therapy staff Implement behaviour management protocol Record and track data Skills and Qualifications: Effective experience working with a broad variety of learners and children in an educational setting Experience working with children ages 3-15 Have or are pursuing RBT, BCaBA, BST, or ABS (preferred) CPR and crisis prevention certifications (preferred)

Requirements

Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students. Previous experience in educational environments or working with special needs populations is considered an asset.
