  • Position Overview The Mother’s Helper supports camp staff by assisting with the care of staff children during the camp day and evening routines.
  • This role helps create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children while allowing staff to fulfill their responsibilities.
  • Key Responsibilities Child Supervision & Safety Provide attentive, hands-on supervision of staff children at all times Ensure children are safe, accounted for, and following camp guidelines Respond appropriately to minor injuries or concerns and report to medical staff when needed Daily Care Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, and dressing as needed Support nap times and bedtime routines (quieting, settling, monitoring) as needed and agreed upon with staff Help maintain children’s comfort throughout the day Activity Support Engage children in age-appropriate play, crafts, and activities Accompany children to designated camp programs or play areas Encourage positive social interactions and inclusive play Support to Staff Parents Work collaboratively with parents to understand each child’s needs Follow specific instructions regarding schedules, preferences, and behavior strategies Communicate updates about the child’s day, including any concerns

Qualifications

Experience working with young children (babysitting, daycare, camp, etc.) Responsible, patient, and attentive Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team Comfortable in a busy camp environment Current First Aid/CPR (preferred) Schedule Hours vary based on staff needs and may include mornings, activity periods, evenings, and occasional late-night support Dates: Main Division: Aug 2-13 2026 Adventure Division Aug 16-25 2026
