Core responsibilities

The counsellor will provide specialized counselling to help clients with disabilities explore vocational potential and address employment barriers, performing duties like receiving referrals, screening, assessing potential, and guiding goal selection. Responsibilities also include developing vocational plans, accessing resources for job finding or training, liaising with agencies, assisting with return to work by contacting insurers/Employers, and monitoring client progress.

Requirements summary

Candidates must possess a master’s degree in a related health science discipline such as rehabilitation or clinical counselling, along with one year of recent vocational rehabilitation or career counselling experience. Eligibility for certification with a recognized rehabilitation professional association is also required.
