The vice president of downtown acts as the primary liaison between the student union and the downtown campus student body, planning events and advocating for student needs through initiatives and projects. This role involves general supervision over financial disbursements, developing necessary organizational policies, and leading staff, including hiring and supervising an executive director.
Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria outlined in the otsu by-Laws, including being of age, not being declared incapable, and not being bankrupt, while also maintaining full time voting member status or executive status and academic good standing. Experience in leadership positions and previous involvement with the student union are considered assets.
