You'll create engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each learner, focusing on developing their language proficiency, literacy skills, and cultural understanding.

POSTING DETAILS <ul> <li>Position - English Language Learner Teacher (ELL)</li> <li>Start Date - As soon as possible (flexible)</li> <li>Schedule - Full-time (guaranteed hours)</li> <li>Employment - Permanent (continuing) </li> <li>Location(s) - To be determined</li> </ul> REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS <ul> <li>Bachelor of Education (Elementary / Middle / Secondary) degree, or equivalent training.</li> <li>A valid Teacher Regulation Branch Certificate, or in progress</li> <li>A thorough understanding of the SIOP Model, CALLA, or Knowledge Framework is an asset.</li> <li>Courses equal to 30 credits including 12 credits in linguistics (of which 6 credits shall relate to second language acquisition)</li> <li>Plus 6 credits in ESL methodology and 6 credits in cross-culture education</li> <li>Ability to understand and effectively carry out general oral and written instructions with minimum supervision.</li> <li>Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy and tact in the explanation and exchange of information.</li> <li>Ability to determine, judge and select an appropriate course of action within limits of established methods and procedures.</li> </ul> For your application to be considered, all required documents must be included: <ul> <li>Resume</li> <li>Cover Letter (please elaborate on your experience and teachable areas)</li> <li>A copy of your transcript (official or unofficial) for your program</li> <li>A copy of the credential received after completing your teaching program</li> <li>A copy of your Certificate of Qualification (from the TRB to teach in BC)</li> <li>Email addresses for a minimum of three references (ideally, administrators from your most recent teaching role)</li> </ul> For applicants who are in the process of completing their program, some of the above documents may be 'pending' at the time of submission; however, the application will still be considered.
