Job description

  • <p>Applications are invited from teachers with </p><p><strong><u>BC</u></strong><strong><u> Certification</u></strong> for the following teaching position: </p><p><strong>Eke Me-Xi Learning Centre, Port Hardy, BC </strong></p><p>1.0 FTE Temporary – LART and ELL </p><p><u>Commencing: September 1, 2026 until January 12, 2027</u> </p><p><u>or return of incumbent, whichever comes first</u> </p><p>The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: </p><ul><li>certification by or eligible to become BC certified by the BC Teacher Certification Branch; </li><li>university coursework in Inclusive Education to meet the needs of students with intellectual, physical, emotional and learning disabilities, i.e. diagnosis and remediation of reading and math difficulties and Level B testing; </li><li>experience developing and implementing IEPs; </li><li>completion of a Bachelor of Education; </li><li>university coursework and experience in assessing and working with learners in ELL programs;</li><li>strong classroom management skills; </li><li>the ability and energy to work with multi-age groups and meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities using a variety of teaching strategies; </li><li>the ability and desire to work closely with staff in a team-oriented approach to teaching and learning; </li><li>strong interest in innovation and inquiry; and </li><li>ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices. </li></ul><div>The starting annual salary for a full-time School Teacher position ranges from $66,299 to $116,016, with placement in the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
  • The Remote Recruitment and Retention allowance is available for SD85 teachers payable at $3,126 over ten months.</div><p><strong>Please contact Ms.
