Requirements summary

Job description

Applications are invited from teachers with BC Certification for the following teaching position: Eke Me-Xi Learning Centre, Port Hardy, BC 1.0 FTE Temporary – LART and ELL Commencing: September 1, 2026 until January 12, 2027 or return of incumbent, whichever comes first The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: <ul><li>certification by or eligible to become BC certified by the BC Teacher Certification Branch; </li><li>university coursework in Inclusive Education to meet the needs of students with intellectual, physical, emotional and learning disabilities, i.e. diagnosis and remediation of reading and math difficulties and Level B testing; </li><li>experience developing and implementing IEPs; </li><li>completion of a Bachelor of Education; </li><li>university coursework and experience in assessing and working with learners in ELL programs;</li><li>strong classroom management skills; </li><li>the ability and energy to work with multi-age groups and meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities using a variety of teaching strategies; </li><li>the ability and desire to work closely with staff in a team-oriented approach to teaching and learning; </li><li>strong interest in innovation and inquiry; and </li><li>ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices. </li></ul><div>The starting annual salary for a full-time School Teacher position ranges from $66,299 to $116,016, with placement in the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
The Remote Recruitment and Retention allowance is available for SD85 teachers payable at $3,126 over ten months.</div>Please contact Ms.
