Part-Time Academic (PHYT 5115: Musculoskeletal I) - Fall 2026 Posting Number PTAP3318P Department/Unit Physiotherapy Location Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Job Summary & Key Responsibilities PHYT 5115 Musculoskeletal I [Fall term, September 8 – December 20, 2026, inclusive of Exam Period] Multiple Positions Available Course Description: This course will cover basic concepts and skills that apply to the practice of musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Emphasis is placed on physiological, mechanical and clinical concepts that underpin the practice of musculoskeletal physiotherapy. The course will consist of lectures, labs, self-directed readings and assignments. The course also will introduce electrophysical agents (EPAs) used in physiotherapy practice. Work Assignment: Availability is required for: Clinical skill labs, scheduled for Tuesday afternoons from 12.:30 – 4:00 pm Provide service and teaching support in the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy course, as part of the MSc Physiotherapy year one curriculum. Duties include, but are not limited: Lab demonstration Assisting with set-up and tear-down of labs Assisting with practical skill examinations Marking assignments Other duties, as required Additional hours may be required for preparation time and limited meeting time with the professor Qualifications/Requirements of Position Candidates must be licensed Physiotherapists with expertise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice. Preference may be given to clinicians with recent experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Good interpersonal skills to work with groups of students or for one-on-one interaction, strong communication skills, a positive attitude toward students, fairness in evaluation and grading, and flexibility in approaches to teaching are also required. Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
