Job Description

The Speech-Language Pathologist assesses, diagnoses and provides intervention for children with communication disorders. The Speech-Language Pathologist is also involved in health promotion and prevention work in relation to communication disorders. The Speech-Language Pathologist will work in concert with other agencies and disciplines in providing services. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

  • Education Master of Speech Language Pathology (SLP) Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge in community development Ability to communicate with clients from diverse social backgrounds Ability to communicate with clients from diverse economic backgrounds Ability to counsel in individual, families and group settings Demonstrates ability to accept and implement change Ability to accurately assess addiction(s) and make appropriate recovery plans.
  • Ability to communicate with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds Ability to develop & maintain consulting relationships in multidisciplinary team Proven ability to collaborate and partner with a wide variety of stakeholders Ability to effectively handle a large caseload, Demonstrated knowledge of best practices.
