Title: Assistant Volleyball Coach (Monthly Stipend)

Department Summary

Job Summary

  • Drake University is seeking applicants for a part-time assistant coach. The successful candidate will support a positive academic, athletic, and social environment for student-athletes while creating a culture of excellence and ethics.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Ability to build rapport and students, coaches and staff.
  • Skills to help student-athletes improve through training / coaching.
  • Ability to complete work within deadlines under little guidance.
  • Ability to develop and sustain relationships with prospective student athletes, parents, and coaches.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Knowledge and basic proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of applicable NCAA Rules and regulations.
  • Experience playing at the collegiate level preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level preferred

Job Duties

  • 60% - Assist with coaching and development of student-athletes
  • 20% - Assist with recruitment of student-athletes
  • 10% - Assist with organization and execution of all practice sessions and meetings
  • 10% - Complete other tasks as assigned by the head coach
