The research assistant will lead the establishment of a field camp in nunavut to study the population ecology of lesser snow geese and ross’s geese, planning all logistics and experimental design for the field season. During the non-Field season, responsibilities include leading data summarization, analysis, report writing, and communication with funders, with opportunities to mentor graduate students.
Applicants must possess an msc in biology or ecology and have recent experience in wildlife biology or ecology field work, preferably in arctic or northern systems involving migratory birds. Essential requirements include first aid certification, familiarity with firearms and outboard motors, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure in challenging environmental conditions.
