Direct support workers will provide individualized care and guidance to children and youth dealing with trauma, disabilities, mental health issues, or addictions, focusing on developing life skills and accessing community resources. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living skills, facilitating activities, administering medication, and ensuring health and safety standards are maintained.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with preference given to candidates with post-Secondary education in disability services, youth care worker, or mental health fields. A minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and/Or cognitive disabilities is mandatory, along with a valid class 5 driver's license.
