Hours of Work
- Monday – Friday, within the hours of 7 am – 6 pm The Organization Centres for Early Learning, fully licensed by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services and Toronto Children’s Services, is made up of ten childcare centres serving communities in various high need areas of Toronto and Milton, Ontario. We believe that the right learning environment supports child development. With programs for infants to children 12 years of age, our centres offer fun, educational environments that parents trust and rely on. Our Education Curriculum is designed to meet the individual developmental needs of each child, including social, physical, intellectual, creative, emotional and self-concept. The Role The RECE is responsible for educating, stimulating, influencing, and caring for the children.
- Their principle responsibilities include: maintaining a high quality environment, assessing, observing and caring for the individual needs of every child, and maintaining open and honest lines of communication between parents and team members and always exemplifying professionalism.
Qualifications
An ECE diploma from a recognized Ontario college Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators Up-to-date First Aid and CPR Up-to-date Immunization and 2 tiered TB test Experience with AQI, ELECT, How Does Learning Happen, and CCEYA. Confident and flexible in working with all age groups (Infants to School Age). Ability to manage children with challenging behaviours and communicate effectively with parents. Excellent teamwork skills
Duties & Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Early Childhood Educator (ECE) is to co-ordinate and lead her/his team in planning and implementing a program and daily activities Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips, and special activities. Works cooperatively as a team member, encourages others to do likewise, and consistently maintains a positive attitude. Incorporate the four (4) foundations of learning – Belonging, Well-being, Engagement, Expression into daily programming to ensure optimal learning and healthy development of the children Communicate regularly with parents regarding development of children. Report any issues or concerns that may arise in accordance with proper procedures. Direct and participate with children in all planned activities. Use well-developed interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff, and parents. Attend and contribute to staff meetings and in-house professional development whether during or after regular work hours.
