This role involves functioning as social-Emotional and well-Being support for middle school students (Grades 6-8), which includes designing and providing sel programming and assisting grade 8 students with grade 9 course selection. The counsellor will also provide individual and group counseling services and consult with students, parents, teachers, and other personnel to meet student needs.
Candidates must possess a post-Secondary degree in education, social work, or a related field, along with 2-3 years of counseling experience, preferably in an educational setting. Essential strengths include knowledge of middle school developmental stages, experience delivering engaging social-Emotional programming, and exceptional skills in communication, problem-Solving, and relationship building.
