• Date: July 10th, 2026</b></p><p> <strong>Reports To: Principal</strong> </p><p><b>Position Overview</b></p><p>'Na Aksa Gyilak'yoo School is seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team in a combined role as a <strong>Kindergarten to Grade 3/4</strong> <b>Literacy Teacher (.4 F.T.E) </b>and <strong>Grade 3/4 (.6 F.T.E) Classroom Teacher</strong>. This position is ideal for someone who values holistic education and is committed to integrating <b>Tsimshian language and culture</b> into daily teaching practices.</p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><p><b>Literacy Kindergarten – Grade 4 (.4
• FTE):</b></p><ul><li>Plan and deliver engaging literacy instruction across multiple grade levels.</li> <li> Support students in developing reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. </li> <li> Collaborate with staff to implement school-wide literacy initiatives. </li> <li> Use assessment data to inform instruction and support student growth. </li> </ul><p><b>Grade 3/4 Classroom (.6

• Integration:</b></p><ul><li>Embed Tsimshian language and cultural teachings into all aspects of the curriculum. </li> <li> Collaborate with Elders, cultural workers, and community members to enrich student learning. </li> <li> Participate in and lead cultural events and ceremonies as part of the school community. </li> </ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>BC Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for certification). </li> <li> Experience teaching literacy and/or elementary grades. </li> <li> Knowledge of or willingness to learn Tsimshian language and cultural practices. </li> <li> Strong classroom management and communication skills. </li> <li> Commitment to Indigenous education and reconciliation. </li> </ul><p><b>Application Process</b></p><p>
