  • DATE: 1:00pm, June </strong><strong>30</strong><strong>th</strong><strong>, 2026</strong></p><p><strong>COMPETITION: 2026-</strong><strong>2</strong><strong>9</strong></p><p><strong>Physical Literacy</strong><strong> Teacher </strong></p><p>Part-time (0.6 FTE) position</p><p>West Bay IB World School </p><p>Effective September 8th, 2026, until June 30, 2027</p><p>A part-time teaching position is available at West Bay IB World School teaching physical and health education to a variety of classes each day from Kindergarten to Grade 7.</p><p><strong><u>Required Qualifications and Experience</u></strong></p><p>The successful applicant for this position will:</p><ul><li>have an excellent understanding, and recent successful experience, teaching Physical and Health Education. </li><li>have the disposition, and possess the skills, to engage students from Kindergarten to Grade 7 in physical activity to develop physical literacy skills and inspire interest in activity and sports.</li><li>be familiar with a Universal Design for Learning approach so that all students are engaged and successful.</li><li>be familiar with the BC Curriculum, including the Core Competencies and the “Know, Understand, Do” elements of the curriculum.</li><li>possess exceptional interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills and proven ability, commitment and drive to work cooperatively and effectively with other educators in a collegial team setting.</li><li>possess a clear understanding of the developmental stages of elementary-aged students and an ability to develop a dynamic, positive learning environment addressing the intellectual, physical and emotional needs of this age group.</li><li>have demonstrated understanding of or willingness to learn and implement the philosophy of the IB PYP in lesson planning, delivery, and assessment.</li><li>possess competent teaching methods to inspire learning with both primary and intermediate-aged students.</li><li>have a solid understanding and proven experience implementing self-regulation strategies to support all learners. </li><li>be familiar with and have an interest in supporting the goals outlined in the West Vancouver Indigenous Enhancement Agreement.</li></ul> <p><strong><u>Why West Vancouver Schools?</u></strong></p><p>West Vancouver Schools, the premier place for learning, has a long-held reputation for excellence and innovation.
