  • DATE:</strong><strong> </strong><strong>June 30</strong><strong>th</strong><strong>, 202</strong><strong>6</strong><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>COMPETITION # 202</strong><strong>6</strong><strong>-</strong><strong>34</strong></p><p><strong>INTERMEDIATE TEACHER</strong></p><p>Full-time (1.0 FTE) position</p><p>Hollyburn Elementary School</p><p>Effective September 8th, 2026 until June 30, 2027</p><p><i>The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $</i><i>63,347</i><i> to $1</i><i>16,190</i><i>, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE. </i></p><p><strong><u>Required Qualifications and Experience</u></strong></p><p>The successful teacher will demonstrate the following: </p><ul><li>A clear understanding of the characteristics of the intermediate student and the ability to develop a positive learning environment addressing the intellectual, physical and emotional needs of intermediate students</li><li>Demonstrated ability and experience to teach, assess and plan an intermediate program</li><li>A wide repertoire of strategies addressing assessment (formative, summative, peer and self)</li><li>A proven ability to frame the curriculum and classroom management around equity, diversity, inclusivity, and reconciliation</li><li>Knowledge and experience in working with learners with varying needs and support staff; demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction in the classroom </li><li>Hold a valid BC teaching certificate</li><li>Knowledge and experience in adapting learning objectives and strategies to meet the needs of English Language Learners at varying needs</li><li>Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills and proven ability and commitment to work cooperatively and effectively with other educators</li><li>An understanding of the First People's Principles as they relate to the curriculum and our local context</li><li>A willingness to support and enhance ADST and innovative learning at the intermediate level</li><li>Knowledge and proven experience in the area of technology (the ability to integrate various technologies into the curriculum, modes of assessment, and its use for student adaptations)</li><li>Proven ability to create a safe and caring learning environment for students using the principles of social-emotional learning </li><li>A strong commitment to positive and consistent engagement and communication with parents and other stakeholders</li></ul> <p><strong><u>Why West Vancouver Schools?</u></strong></p><p>West Vancouver Schools, the premier place for learning, has a long-held reputation for excellence and innovation.
