At initial placement, for bachelor degree minimum placement is step 11 ($71,846) and maximum initial placement is step 6 ($89,412) At initial placement, for master degree, journeyperson certificate or professional qualification such as registered nurse degree, minimum placement is step 10 ($75,357) and maximum initial placement is step 3 ($100,527) Once employed, dependent upon maximum placement, increments-for-service allow for progression to step 2A ($107,266) for employees with step 3 as maximum or to step 1 ($115,129) for employees who reach step 2. Job Description
- The School of Health Sciences and Human Services is seeking a term instructor to teach in our Certified Dental Assistant Program. The following is required for successful employment at Camosun College:

- Ability to plan, organize and evaluate teaching approaches and outcomes to maximize student learning

- An ability to contribute to and cultivate collegial and collaborative work relationships

- Capable of thriving in a BC post-secondary education setting that’s welcoming and relevant to Indigenous learners and helping to prepare non-Indigenous students, graduates and employees to better understand, live alongside of, and work with Indigenous peoples.

The School of Health Sciences and Human Services, Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) Program, seeks sessional instructors who are committed to the scholarship of teaching in a learning centered College environment to join our team. Our faculty combines clinical expertise and a passion for teaching into rich and rewarding student and instructor experiences. These professionals, working in lab, clinical and/or classroom settings, are responsible for preparing and mentoring the next generation of dental assistants. Instructors are critical players in assuring quality educational experiences that prepare the graduate for a diverse, ever-changing dental environment. They are committed to student success and guide students through the learning process, in a learner-centered environment.
Qualifications
- Current registration and licensure with the British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals. (BCCOHP) as a practicing LDA. Minimum of three years recent clinical LDA experience Completion of the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) is an asset; applicants must be willing to enroll, though it is not required at the time of application Recent experience in specialty areas of dentistry such as orthodontics, prosthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, dental reception or practice management, is an asset An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered Capabilities The core capabilities are required for all positions at the college.
