Provide high-quality care and creative programming for infants and toddlers using the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum. Maintain a safe environment and foster positive relationships with children, families, and community partners.
Requires basic ECE certification and an Infant Toddler Educator (ITE) license. Must possess Emergency First Aid, CPR-C, and AED certification, and pass a criminal record check with a vulnerable sector search.

Location: West Sechelt YMCA Child Care (5609 Mason Rd, Sechelt, BC V0N 3A8)
*New hires may be eligible for a relocation allowance of up to $500
*Potential assistance in exploring housing solutions on the Sunshine Coast through existing community supports available.
Term: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 35 hours per week
Shift: Monday-Friday rotating shifts between the hours of 7:30am to 6:00pm
Start Date: As soon as possible
$32.66 per hour (Includes $6 per hour per the Provincial Wage Enhancement Program).
*Newly hired ECE employees, including IT/SNs, at YMCA BC's Sunshine Coast or Powell River sites will be eligible for a $500 retention bonus upon completion of one year of service

Nature & Scope
Early childhood educators (ECE, ECE-IT/ SN) at the YMCA ensure a safe and engaging environment for all children. By adhering to the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum, they design, and lead activities tailored to the interests and developmental stages of the children in their care. These educators also cultivate and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents, fellow educators, and community partners to deliver high-quality childcare within the communities we serve.
