Ensure a safe and engaging environment for infants and toddlers by implementing the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum. Build positive relationships with families and maintain high-quality childcare standards through active supervision and daily communication.
Requires basic ECE certification and a mandatory Infant Toddler Educator (ITE) license. Candidates must possess Emergency First Aid/CPR-C/AED certification and pass a criminal record check with a vulnerable sector search.

Term: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 35 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible
$32.66 per hour (Includes $6 per hour Provincial Wage Enhancement Program).
*Newly hired ECE employees, including IT/SNs, at YMCA BC's Sunshine Coast or Powell River sites will be eligible for a $500 retention bonus upon completion of one year of service

Early childhood educators (ECE, ECE-IT/SN) at the YMCA ensure a safe and engaging environment for all children. By adhering to the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum, they design, and lead activities tailored to the interests and developmental stages of the children in their care. These educators also cultivate and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents, fellow educators, and community partners to deliver high-quality childcare within the communities we serve.
