Position Summary
The Faculty of Nursing, University of Regina, in collaboration with Saskatchewan Polytechnic (Sask Polytech), offers innovative undergraduate nursing programs in Regina and Saskatoon, as well as an online graduate nurse practitioner education program. In addition, other graduate programs are offered independently. The University invites applications from qualified individuals for a full-time, Tenure Track position at the rank of Clinical Instructor II or III (depending on experience and qualifications). Faculty are based at the Regina Campus; travel will be required to support student learning, community engagement, and cross-institutional collaboration. The Faculty of Nursing seekds candidates with recent clinical experience across multiple care areas. Instruction and mentoring of nursing students in a variety of clinical, community, and lab/seminar settings throughout years 1-4 of the Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (SCBScN) program Responsibilities vary according to the educational setting and will include clinical/lab/seminar preparation, supervision, instruction, and evaluation May include low, medium, high fidelity simulation and virtual reality, seminars, labs and interprofessional teaching/learning events. Will include formative and summative evaluation of student clinical performance in relation to course competencies and learning outcomes, which includes the determination of students’ client assignments, clinical instruction, evaluation of student progress, and support within the agency during student research time Includes agency collaboration and interdisciplinary communication within the clinical setting Opportunities for participation in other program activities Some travel will be required Service to the Faculty and University is also required Position Requirements The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, comprehensive knowledge of nursing practice, and a demonstrated commitment and enthusiasm for teaching. A successful candidate will be expected to use a variety of teaching modalities, including offering courses in practice education settings, labs, and seminars. Ideally, applicants will have recent, relevant clinical experience in med-surg or pediatrics. Experience with and a solid understanding of healthcare simulation in nursing is also preferred. A minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is required. A completed Master of Nursing is preferred. Applicants must be registered or eligible for practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan and have certification in CPR, TLR, and be mask fit tested. Physical Demands See information up to 24 inches away (monitors, computer screens) May involve prolonged periods of walking or standing for clinical supervision.
