  • Join us and make a direct impact on the education, well-being, and cultural development of our students.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Deliver Physical & Health Education curriculum aligned with B.C. standards</li><li>Promote fitness, teamwork, and student well-being</li><li>Organize and facilitate school sports, sports academies, intramurals, and extracurricular activities</li><li>Foster a safe, inclusive, and culturally aware environment</li><li>Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate records</li><li>Integrate Sim'algya<u>x</u> and Gitksen culture in projects and lessons</li><li>Assess and monitor student progress; provide feedback, grades, and reports</li><li>Support students' intellectual, social, and emotional development</li><li>Participate in school activities, committees, professional development, extra-curricular activities</li><li>Collaborate with colleagues to integrate project-based learning, particularly when weaving Sim'algya<u>x</u> and Gitksen culture into their curriculum.</li></ul><strong>Qualifications</strong><ul><li>Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education </li><li>BC Teacher Certification</li><li>Knowledge of fitness, sports safety, and PHE pedagogy</li><li>Knowledge of First Nations schools and culturally responsive instruction</li><li>Strong knowledge of 21st-century, project-based learning and teaching strategies</li><li>Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills</li><li>Team player with creativity and innovation in lesson planning</li><li>Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.</li></ul> <p><strong>Benefits:</strong> GWSSS provides its employees with a competitive salary (based on SD82 wage grid) dependent on category and years of experience (ie.
