<p><strong>GITWANGAK ADULT SCHOOL – JOB POSTING</strong></p><p><strong>ADULT EDUCATION TEACHER</strong></p><p>Gitwangak Education Society (GES) invites teacher applications/resumes for a full-time adult education teacher for Gitwangak Adult School. </p><p><strong><u>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</u></strong></p><p><strong>The successful candidate must hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate </strong></p><p><strong>Related Experience:</strong></p><p> · Promote high expectations and academic achievement for all students in a safe and nurturing environment</p><p> · Recent successful adult education teaching experience; grades 10-12; Adult dogwood</p><p> · Employment readiness</p><p> · Coordinate adult education programs, culture programs, and training</p><p> · Differentiates curriculum expectations and teaching strategies to meet the needs of all students</p><p> · Ability to engage students in a positive learning environment. </p><p> · Manage student behaviour in the classroom incorporating school-wide rules and discipline policy</p><p> · Experience and ability to integrate Gitxsan culture / language into the curriculum</p><p> · Experience and knowledge with special needs students </p><p> · Be a team player and work with all staff in a positive manner and provide support as needed</p><p> · Exceptional inter-personal skills and particularly those related to parent/community involvement </p><p>We are focused on the growth of programming in our school so that our young people who have not graduated can complete the Adult Dogwood and continue on into post-secondary education to become confident, self-reliant, and knowledgeable Gitxsan people who will excel in two worlds. </p><p><strong>Annual Salary: $63,513 and is dependent on experience</strong></p><p><strong>Closing Date: July 31, 2026 or until the position is filled.</strong></p><p><strong>Start Date: August 24, 2026</strong></p><p><strong>Mail/ e-mail cover letter, resume, BC Teaching Certificate, 3 references, and supporting documents to:</strong></p><p>Lillian Gogag, Executive Director</p><p>P.O. Requirements
