(250) 842 - 6148</p><p> </p><p><strong>Two Intermediate Teaching Position</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Start date: September 2st 2025/2026 school year.</p><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p><p>· Bachelor of Education degree</p><p>· Must have or be eligible for BC Teacher Certification</p><p>· Experience working with First Nations students</p><p>· Good communication skills, self-motivated, compassionate, empathetic, and enthusiastic;</p><p>· Ability to manage challenging student behaviors.</p><p><strong>Knowledge and experience:</strong></p></div><p><br></br><br></br></p><p>· Primary Programs: Read Well, Saxon Math, Acadience Reading</p><p>· Intermediate programs: Reading Mastery, Six Minute Solution, Jump Math/Math Focus, Corrective Reading, Third Quest</p><p>· Effective classroom management skills;</p><p>· Knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture;</p><p>· Effective planning strategies which include lesson plans, unit plans and year plans;</p><p>· Comprehensive assessment strategies which accommodate First Nations learning styles;</p><p>· Willingness to integrate appropriate technologies in the classroom;</p><p>· Experience developing and implementing IEPs;</p><p>· Willingness to incorporate a variety of teaching methods to motivate and encourage students including the use of traditional knowledge in the outdoors and on the land;</p><p>· Willingness to participate in local community and cultural events;</p><p>· Experience using technology and web-based resources in instruction including Smartboards and IPads;</p><p>· Maintains effective and consistent communication with students and parents to discuss progress and goals</p><p>· Monitor virtual classrooms during distance/remote learning: student progress, student attendance, student mental health</p><p> </p><p><strong>Open until filled.
