We are currently seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Childcare Worker to join our team and provide essential support to foster families.

Position Overview

As a Childcare Worker at SFFA, you will play a key role in supporting the daily care and well-being of children in a foster home. Your responsibilities will include a combination of childcare, light housekeeping, and assisting with transportation for family visits or outings. Given the dynamic nature of this role, flexibility and adaptability are essential to meet the evolving needs of the children and the family.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, high-quality childcare in a supportive and nurturing environment.
  • Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized home.
  • Coordinate and facilitate transportation for family visits, outings, and appointments.
  • Offer emotional and practical support to children and youth, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development.
  • Maintain effective communication with team members, foster families, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Adhere to confidentiality and professional boundaries while interacting with children, families, and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in childcare or early childhood development, with a preference for experience working with diverse needs and challenges.
  • Must be at least 18years old
  • A commitment to a healthy, active lifestyle and the well-being of children and families.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to provide a recent Criminal Records Check.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
