The employment counsellor provides direct individualized services to clients, supporting them in identifying and achieving short and long-Term goals to improve employability through access to education, training, and employment opportunities. This includes delivering various employment interventions such as individual and group counselling, conducting needs assessments, and assisting clients with pre-Employment preparation like resume writing and interview skills.
Candidates must possess a degree or diploma in social sciences, educational counselling, or social work, along with two years of related case management experience working with the public in an employment setting. Fluency in both english and french is essential, and knowledge of employment ontario programs, job search strategies, and local resources is required.
