Child and youth care workers provide support within residences for young people facing exceptional, unique, and challenging needs requiring long-Term stabilization or transitional placement. This involves ensuring a safe environment, promoting positive attachment, providing nutritious meals, maintaining schedules, and encouraging the development of socially acceptable decision-Making skills.
A diploma or degree in disability services, social work, or human services (Or equivalent) is required, along with a minimum of two years' experience working with children and youth who have complex needs and challenging behaviors. Applicants must also possess valid first aid/Cpr certification and clear background checks, including a driver's abstract, and have access to a vehicle for client transport.
