Child and youth care workers provide support in residences for young people with exceptional, unique, and challenging needs requiring stabilization, permanency planning, or transitional placement. Responsibilities include ensuring a safe, nurturing environment, providing nutritious meals, setting age-Appropriate boundaries, and encouraging participation in developmental and community activities.
A diploma or degree in disability services, social work, or human services (Or equivalent) is required, along with a minimum of two years' experience working with children and youth who have complex needs and challenging behaviors. Applicants must also possess valid first aid/Cpr certification and be able to pass required background checks, including a vulnerable sector check and child intervention record check.
