Child and youth care workers provide essential support within residences for young people facing exceptional, unique, and challenging needs requiring long-Term stabilization or transitional placement. The role involves ensuring a safe environment, promoting positive attachment, facilitating development through activities, and encouraging the development of socially responsible decision-Making skills.
A diploma or degree in disability services, social work, or human services (Or equivalent) is required, along with a minimum of two years of experience working with children and youth who have complex needs and challenging behaviors. Applicants must also possess valid emergency first aid/Cpr, a vulnerable sector check, a child intervention record check, a clear driver's abstract, a vehicle, and proof of $2 million liability insurance.
