<p><strong>School Psychologist at Learning Services (District)</strong></p> <p><strong>Start Date: July 1, 2025</strong></p> <p><strong>End Date: June 30, 2026 or upon return of incumbent</strong></p> <p><strong>FTE: 1.0 (full time)</strong></p><p><strong><br></br></strong></p><p><strong><u> NATURE OF THE ASSIGNMENT</u></strong></p><p> The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work both independently and with a collaborative team of school psychologists, school-based teams and/or district personnel. The School Psychologist plays a supportive role in the identification, assessment, planning, reporting and evaluation process. Services are district-based and are designed to support students, school personnel and parents in enhancing academic, adaptive and social skills for students.</p><p><br></br></p><p><strong><u> SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong></p><p> · Masters of Education in School Psychology.</p><p> </p><p> · Registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Licensed School Psychologist. </p><p> </p><p> · Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with teachers, parents, school administrators and community agencies.</p><p> · Demonstrated skill in completing psycho-educational assessments.</p><p> · Successful experience and demonstrated skill in curriculum modifications and appropriate teaching strategies for the inclusion of adolescents with special needs.</p><p> · Successful experience and demonstrated skill in designing Individual Education Plans for students with a full range of special needs.</p><p> · Successful experience and demonstrated skill in providing a variety of in-service workshops addressing issues in special education.</p><p> · High level of experience and knowledge in assessment literacy.</p><p> · Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of elementary and secondary school curriculum.</p><p><br></br></p><p><strong><u> GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS, ATTRIBUTES and EXPERIENCE</u></strong></p><p> · Strong commitment to excellence in supporting students with disabilities and diverse abilities.</p><p> · Demonstrated ability to design and implement a variety of assessment practices to measure and monitor student progress effectively.</p><p> · Strategies to identify learning difficulties and implement effective intervention to maximize academic success.</p><p> · Demonstrated successful experience supporting the success of all learners in an inclusive environment.</p><p> · Strong organizational skills.</p><p> · Excellent oral communications, written communication, and group facilitation skills.</p><p> · Superior work ethic and social emotional competencies, excellent reflective judgment, and commitment to building effective learning communities.</p><p> · Comprehensive understanding of curriculum.</p><p> · Confidence and proficiency in using instructional organizers, concepts, and strategies that actively engage all students in learning.</p><p> · Ability to positively influence instruction, curriculum, assessment, and social-emotional learning practices in a collaborative environment.</p><p> · Knowledge and understanding of the application of relevant computer technologies to teaching and learning.</p><p> · Willingness to be involved in professional development, with an ongoing commitment to learn and implement new methodologies and strategies.</p><p> · Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and school personnel.</p><p><strong><br></br></strong></p><p><b><u> CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:</u></b></p><p> · Certification by the BC Association of School Psychologists (BCASP).</p><p> · Membership in the BC Teacher Regulation Branch.</p><p> · A member of the North Vancouver Teachers’ Association and the BC Teachers’ Federation.</p> <p><br></br></p><ul> </ul>
