  • Teaching experience at the Grade 6 - 12 level in Drama and Theatre Arts and/ or Visual Arts and experience teaching English Language Arts would be an asset. </p><p> Our teachers make decisions of considerable consequence in determining how best to aid students in the learning process.
  • The functional role of this position requires teaching, learning, mentorship, collaboration, assessment, evaluation, and support of the students and the school. </p><br></br><p><b> Success Factors </b></p><ul><li><p> Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution with a focus on Visual Arts </p></li><li><p> Bachelor of Education and a BC Teacher’s Certification </p></li><li><p> Experience in an Independent School (asset) </p></li><li><p> Experience teaching Visual Arts at the High School level </p></li><li><p> AP experience is considered an asset </p></li><li><p> Computer Skills: Google Classroom, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Gmail </p></li><li><p> Known to model the highest standards of professional practice and interactions with all stakeholders </p></li><li><p> Ability to understand the importance of emotional intelligence and empathy in building trust and contributing to a positive working atmosphere across the School community </p></li><li><p> Known to communicate, negotiate, collaborate, and build partnerships effectively </p></li></ul><br></br><p> As part of our active commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, we strive to welcome students, families, and employees with a diverse range of identities and backgrounds to enrich the Aberdeen Hall community with varied perspectives. </p><br></br><p> The successful applicant for this role will be a team player and participate in extracurricular activities.
