2 successful years of special education teaching experience, including long term or regular TOC assignments in Special Education..
Experience collaboratively developing IEPs for students with a variety of educational needs (e.g., autism [ASD], fetal alcohol spectrum disorder [FASD], learning disability, academic remediation, behavioural challenges)..
Demonstrated knowledge of inclusionary practices and Ministry of Education special education category criteria..
Successful behavioural management programming experience (e.g., positive behaviour support, functional behaviour assessment)..
Ability to use a wide range of teaching and management strategies..
Computer technology skills to support and enhance learning.

<div> <div><strong>#2627-194 Ellison Elementary</strong></div> <div><strong>0.9 FTE in the area of School Based Resource Teacher</strong></div> <p><strong>This is a Continuing Contract position.</strong></p> <p>This position is effective September 8, 2026. </p> <div> <p><strong>While all applicants will be considered, preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-declare Indigenous ancestry.</strong></p> </div> <div>The starting annual salary for a school teacher position ranges from $60,000 to $110,000, with placement on the range based on the length of service and qualifications in accordance in accordance with the collective agreement.

Responsibilities <br></br> will include case management, diagnostic assessment, planning, evaluation and implementation of <br></br> individualized education plans (IEPs) for students’ either claimed or unclaimed within the Ministry <br></br> of Education categories, as well as supervision and direction of Certified Education Assistants <br></br> (CEAs) assigned within a school.
The assignment will require collaborative planning within a <br></br> multi-disciplinary team including classroom teachers, school based personnel, itinerant district <br></br> specialists, and Provincial Outreach Program staff.
