Requirements summary

Valid BC Teaching Certificate.
Eligibility for membership in the BC Teachers Regulation Branch.
Masters Degree in Special Education or Post Graduate Diploma in Inclusive Education.
Formal training in Level B assessment.
5 successful years of classroom teaching experience.
2 successful years of special education teaching experience, including long term or regular TOC assignments.
Experience in special education assignments.
Experience collaboratively developing IEPs for students with a variety of educational needs (e.g., ASD, FASD, learning disability, academic remediation, behavioural challenges) within a multi-disciplinary team.
Demonstrated knowledge of inclusionary practices.
Demonstrated knowledge of Ministry of Education special education categories criteria.
Demonstrated knowledge of successful behavioural management programming (positive behaviour support, functional behaviour assessment, etc.).
Ability to use a wide range of teaching and management strategies.
Computer technology skills to support and enhance learning

<div>Posting #2627-237 Cherryville Elementary</div> <div>0.2FTE School Based Resource Teacher </div><div>Schedule in Consult with Supervisor</div> This temporary contract position is effective September 8, 2026 and will continue until December 18, 2026. Cherryville Elementary is in session from 07:50 until 14:08 Monday to Thursday and from 07:50-11:23 on Fridays While all applicants will be considered, preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-declare Indigenous ancestry. The starting annual salary for a school teacher position ranges from $60,000 to $110,000, with placement on the range based on the length of service and qualifications in accordance in accordance with the collective agreement.
Positions of Special Responsibility receive an additional pay allowance in accordance with the collective agreement based on the levels 1, 2, or 3.
