The Instructor delivers basketball course content and implements sequential weekly lesson plans for children and youth. They are responsible for maintaining a safe environment, tracking participant progress, and communicating development to parents and supervisors.
Candidates need a diploma or degree in a child/youth related field and at least one year of experience instructing basketball to children and teens. Required certifications include NCCP Basketball Coaching (Learn to Train level) and Standard First Aid & CPR Level C.

The Instructor Children and Youth Sports teaches and examines using YMCA curriculum and resources. Instructors develop short and long-term lesson plans that identify the unique needs of the participants. Instructors maintain a safe environment at all times.
