GES 120 – Human Geography This course deals with the explanation of human placement in, and interaction with, the natural environment; assessment of concepts, processes and patterns as related to distribution of human phenomena, including economic activity and settlement types. Position Requirements Successful applicants must hold at a minimum an MA degree in Geography or a closely related discipline, with relevant expertise in Human Geography . They must be able to demonstrate an ability to teach the course in question. Those applicants with PhDs in Geography, as well as those enrolled in a PhD program in Geography, will be given preference over those with the MA degree. Preference will be given to those having previous experience teaching this course. Experience managing classroom and online technologies used by the University of Regina (including UR Courses [Moodle]) will be beneficial. Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional
Per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours The instructor will deliver the course on campus face-to-face on Mondays and Wednesdays from 13:00-14:15. Instructors are expected to have one office hour per week. Course Modality On Campus; Face-to-Face Course Dates and Time Mondays, Wednesdays - 13:00-14:15 Duration (if Term/Temporary) September 1 - December 31, 2026. Sessional Lecturers may have preparatory work to do before the start date and sometimes may have to deal with grading tasks after the termination date.
