Position Summary
ErinoakKids is seeking an enthusiastic individual to fill a position as Speech-Language Therapy Assistant. Under the direction of a Speech Language Pathologist, the Speech-Language Therapy Assistant will assist in providing therapy programs to children in school (SBRS). Key Responsibilities: Provide individual and group therapy for students who present with speech, voice, or fluency disorders under the direction of the SBRS SLP. Working collaboratively with the SBRS SLP and school team to determine a service delivery plan for each student. In collaboration with the SBRS SLP, manage an assigned case load and contribute to the quality of care to clients. Documentation of care. Liaising with the SBRS SLP, school team and parents to book appointments. Maintain regular contact with client families and keep them informed of treatment plans.
Qualifications
Communicative Disorders Assistant Diploma or equivalent; Clinical experience working with children with a wide range of speech and language difficulties; Minimum two years of clinical experience working with school age students preferred; Excellent communication skills, written and verbal; Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting; Bilingualism is an asset; Current C.P.R. and First Aid; Travel is a requirement for the SBRS role; Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle.
